KidSuper, a New York fashion and art label, ran the SuperSwap Café, a pop-up with the trading platform Uniswap, at its Williamsburg space. It wanted modular, movable seating with a pop of color, and since a pop-up shifts by the hour, the furniture had to keep up rather than stay put.
We shaped 1,800 pounds of recycled polystyrene, made from 100% recycled medical trays and refrigerators, into fourteen curved benches with molds and heat: three long, five quarter-circle, five corner, and one round. Every piece rolls on casters, so staff can reconfigure the space in minutes and the seating answers to whatever the cafe needs that day.
